In Micah 4:1-5, the Word of the LORD says the following:
“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the LORD’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And peoples shall flow to it.
Many nations shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion the law shall go forth,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between many peoples,
And rebuke strong nations afar off;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.
But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree,
And no one shall make them afraid;
For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken.
For all people walk each in the name of his god,
But we will walk in the name of the LORD our God
Forever and ever.” (New King James Version)
These are wonderful promises of God, which clearly have not happened, yet, as He promises world peace, and that His people will walk in His Name forever. These promises are what Christians should point to when sharing their faith with others. At this time of year, when the world pauses to celebrate the coming of our LORD Jesus at Christmas, the promises of Christ’s eventual return and reign should be what we all strive after, not the shiny gifts under a tree. This Christmas, take the time to read the many promises of God in the Scriptures, promises that point to His Blessed Kingdom coming in full force at the end of the age. One day, Christ will return, and the question you have to ask yourself before He comes is, what have I done with the knowledge that God the Father sent God the Son to die on a cross for us, that we may have Eternal Life with Him in Heaven? The consequences of not knowing the answer to that question are eternal in nature. To be eternally saved, the Bible says you need to firmly place your faith in our LORD Jesus. There is no other way by which anyone may have salvation.
