Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.
We have a number of favorite family traditions that we practice at particular times of the year and also throughout the year.
The tradition that stands out the most to me is how we worship and honor God every Sunday at Church. Our Family rarely fails to attend worship services, where we listen to hymns, hear the Word preached and taught, and practice Holy Communion.
The second tradition that stands out in my mind is our Bible Study Group, which we have modeled after Acts 2:46-47, where the Word of God says:
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” (New King James Version)
A third set of traditions that we practice is having a number of gatherings at the end of the year, when the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays are upon us. Last year, we had several Family and Friends gatherings, where we celebrated what we are thankful for and also celebrated the Advent of our LORD Jesus.
Our Group has been together for a very long time. At our gatherings, we have a meal, and then we have deep, meaningful Bible Study. We have committed to helping our Friends in whatever way they need, and we often pray for each other. This Life Group will be together for our lifetimes, in some fashion or another.
The common theme in all these traditions is the Community of God. Throughout the year, we seek to honor our Blessed LORD by gathering as a Group of Faithful Believers to worship our LORD, break Bread, eat together, and celebrate Him with each other.
