Probably going back centuries, the Mexican people (and other cultures, as well) prepare a wonderful treat, usually at Christmastime. I’m talking about tamales. In our Family, our Mom has been making them since I was little. As we all grew up watching her make this traditional treat, my Siblings and I know how to make them now.

Tamales are difficult to make. There are many steps, but I think it’s a fun process. Last year, I tried to have a tamale-making party for our Family, but we had a leak in the kitchen, and suddenly we were facing a destroyed kitchen. We are currently unable to cook in our kitchen, and we definitely could not make tamales for Christmas.

Tamales are a Mexican tradition that can help bring Families together. Since we could not make them last year, this year I’m going to try again. I believe that if we put all efforts together, our tamales will truly be the best because several of my Family members are very good cooks.
