Dear Brothers and Sisters in the LORD,

In these blogs, I have often asserted a reality that many people refuse to acknowledge, at their own peril. I have stated several times that there are basically two groups of people in the world, those who follow (or will follow) God and those who follow the enemy of our souls, the devil.

Let’s break it down a little. The followers of Jesus Christ are easily discerned, for we bear the fruit of the spirit, as it states in Galatians 5:22-25:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” (from the New King James Version [NKJV] of the Holy Scriptures)

Right above that passage, the Word of God describes how the enemies of God behave, in Galatians 5:19-21:

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (from the NKJV of the Word)

Above both these passages, our Precious Holy Spirit instructs us on how we should live, as God’s Chosen People, as clearly stated in Galatians 5:16-18:

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” (from the NKJV of the Blessed Scriptures of God)

Our LORD Jesus told a parable that ties all of this together, in Matthew 13:24-30:

“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.’” (from the NKJV of the The Holy Bible)

Looking further back in Scripture, in Genesis 3:14-15, the Word of God records the following:

“So the LORD God said to the serpent:

‘Because you have done this [deceived mankind],

You are cursed more than all cattle,

And more than every beast of the field;

On your belly you shall go,

And you shall eat dust

All the days of your life.

And I will put enmity

Between you and the woman,

And between your seed and her Seed;

He shall bruise your head,

And you shall bruise His heel.’” (the NKJV of God’s Word)

So, what are we to conclude from all of these passages of Scripture? The first thing that stands out to me is that when mankind fell, and God pronounced judgment on the enemy of our souls, He stated that the devil’s children would be opposed to Jesus Christ (the Seed of the Woman) and by extension be opposed to all of God’s Children.

Our Blessed LORD then promises to bruise the head of the enemy, which means that all of his devious, evil plans will come to nothing. And the enemy will be able to bruise the heel of our Blessed LORD, which apparently means that he will be able to hurt our LORD Jesus in some way. But how? Some claim that because Jesus had a nail driven through his feet at the Cross, that this is what this verse in Genesis 3 means, but I believe the meaning goes much deeper, as it often does with God.

Well, aren’t we all at the feet of Jesus, our Blessed KING? And if the enemy is going to go after us who are at the feet of Jesus and try to kill and hurt as many of us as he can, our LORD will necessarily feel our pain at his feet or at his heels. The enemy has tried his best to eliminate God’s people since the Fall of Man because he has deluded himself into thinking that he can stop the coming of the Messiah at the First Coming and at the Second Coming if he could just eliminate enough of God’s people. He is a blind fool, an idiot allowed to do only what God allows.

I firmly believe the enemies of God are going crazy like hornets whose nest has been kicked because they know that it is too late for them, and they are desperate because their time is short, so they lash out at God’s people. They will attempt to kill as many of God’s children as they can before the end of the age. The enemies of God believe they can destroy many of those who have not chosen God, yet. However, I believe our LORD in His sovereignty can and will protect these people. One of God’s biggest promises in Scripture can be found in 2 Peter 3:8-9:

“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (from the NKJV of the Blessed Word of God)

This passage, written by the Apostle Peter, should give you great comfort, for in it, our Precious Holy Spirit teaches us that our Blessed LORD is not willing that anyone (those marked by God for Salvation) should perish. In other words, no matter how bad things get for those who are of the Way or who will be of the Way, our LORD will always reach those people for the Kingdom. The tares, or the devil’s children, can do nothing more than be a minor annoyance to the man or woman of our Blessed LORD, Who will watch over us at every turn. Amen and Amen.
