My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today, our Blessed Holy Spirit, drew my attention to 1 Corinthians 15:50-58:
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’
‘O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?’
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (from the New King James Version of the Holy Scriptures)
The Resurrection of God’s people will be one of the most important events (other than the Death and Resurrection of our LORD Jesus Himself) in the history of mankind. That God will raise us at the last day should be a glorious fact that gives you all the hope in the world. It means that nothing evil that has ever happened to you, none of the bad things, will ultimately matter in the end. What will matter is that you have a New Life in Christ, and that you get to enjoy an Eternity with Him.
Denying that the Resurrection will take place is demonic. Demons don’t believe in the Resurrection because they are far from God, and they know in their hearts that they will not partake of the Resurrection. What awaits for the devil and his horde is the eternal fires of Hell and damnation. Their fate was sealed at Calvary when our LORD Jesus gave up His Spirit willingly that we might live forever with Him.
I said before in a previous blog post that the fates of the enemy of our souls and his minions were sealed for all eternity as soon as our LORD Jesus died on the Cross. For Christians, the Death of Jesus means reconciliation with the Father; for the devil and his demons, the Death of Christ on the Cross means eternal damnation. There is no longer any hope for demons. They have chosen their bed; now they must lie in it.
But our enemies will not stop trying to destroy the works of God and by extension, the works of God’s people. Did you ever run against strange opposition to what you were trying to accomplish, whether it was in a personal matter or in a professional matter? Did people appear allied against you, and you had no explanation as to why they were undermining you.
I have had this situation many times in my life. Once, there was this idiot of an office manager when I was a director at an agency. Unbeknownst to me, he worked to undermine me the whole time I was at that site. I did not find out until after I left the site, when my former boss told me about it. It’s ironic that nothing this office manager ever did undermined me in any way. His plans were thwarted by our Precious Holy Spirit, and I was able to succeed at that company site, in spite of this office manager and his equally moronic boss. They could do nothing to stop what I was doing in leading several teams of clinicians and having the most successful program in the Agency. That idiot and his idiot boss were like flies, a mere annoyance to me, one that our Blessed LORD kept me from even being aware of for the time I was at that site.
When the Resurrection of the Saints takes place, it will validate everything that our LORD stood for, and it will also validate us, His followers, for believing the Gospel and for our LORD choosing us as His own. The Word says that nothing can snatch us out of the hand of Jesus once He has us. At the Blessed Resurrection, we will know what it’s like to belong to Christ forever. We will no longer worry about any heartache. We will be safe in our LORD’s Kingdom, ready to do all sorts of good works, planned by Him from and for all Eternity. What a Supreme Blessing. Amen and Amen and Amen.
