Last night, my Wife and I talked about how Seniors are easy targets for scammers. By show of hands, who here saw that cinematic masterpiece, The Beekeeper. I assure you, that story can be true. Our Blessed LORD can send True Beekeepers, awesome Archangels to take out scammers. I believe He can. Do you? And what if He already has?

The reason Seniors are targeted by scammers so much is that the vast majority of them are very loving and trusting. Their nature dictates that they trust anyone who appears to be kind. And since most Seniors hold much of the American wealth, the thieves figure they can stand to lose money because after all, they have too much wealth, so they won’t miss a million or two, right? Wrong! They earned their money, and many of them are on a fixed income.

Laura and I have been very careful with our Parents. Here is what we tell our Moms (both of our Dads are in Heaven): “do not trust anything that comes to your text, voicemail, email, and yes, regular mail.” Thieves can use any avenue to attack our Parents. In fact, the avenue they use the most is the U.S. Mail because they know that Seniors trust that system implicitly.

Laura and I often get letters from President Trump or some other politician from a different U.S. State or district. Or, we get letters from the police benevolent fund, asking for a small donation. Sometimes, these scammers send you money, as much as a $2 and ask you to send much more. They all know how to tug at your heart strings. They’ll send a picture of President Trump in tears asking you for money. First of all, the man has never cried, and second of all, he has more money than anyone else, other than his Friend Elon Musk.

President Trump or his campaign do not write letters to people. Do you know why I know this for certain? First, a letter writing campaign is expensive, and Trump will not spend his resources on a media that went out of style decades ago. Also, the President no longer needs our money. His term is up on January 20, 2029. If he stays in office, like so many say, why would he need money to run a campaign. As far as I know, tyrants don’t need to run for office. Especially when they have more money than most Americans (except Elon, right?)

I’m sorry if I belabored the above point about our President. You see, scammers are working overtime right now to use President Trump to tug at the heart strings of older Americans because the vast majority of them are conservative and most likely lean toward the MAGA movement. It is an insidious thing.

But what are we to do about it? Should we take power of attorney over our Parents to protect them from these scammers. Not necessarily, especially if your Parents are functioning relatively well. No, we should teach them how to avoid scams. Warn them in plain English that President Trump is not writing to them. Tell them that as much as they would love a personal note from the leader of the free world, he does not have the time to write to every American. Oh, and he does not need $20 from every American. If he did, I would be extremely concerned about the current state of our Union.

No, the scammers are getting rich from the scams they perpetrate against our most vulnerable populations. By the way, they also target children and Christians (they got me once, no lie). If the smartest among us can get scammed, then what about the kindest people of our time, our Parents and the vast majority of Seniors in this country.

And that is why scammers do what do. They know that if they can get 500 Seniors to send them $10 to fund a fake campaign, then they just made $5000 with no real effort. Cowards! And you know what, I pray our Blessed LORD will send His Righteous Beekeepers, His Archangels, to avenge anyone who has been scammed. Watch the movie, which is an allegory; you’ll be shocked by how powerful Archangels are. Amen.
