My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

Have you ever received help from someone when you least expected it? How many times in your life has our Blessed LORD sent someone into your life at just the right time to help you navigate an extremely difficult situation? Maybe you were having problems with your child at school, and an extremely kind teacher helped you navigate the mental health system so you could get counseling for your child. Maybe God sent a wonderful counselor into your life when you had reached new heights of desperation.

Anyone that the LORD sends to help me or others I call a “Beekeeper.” Where do I get that term? If you watched the movie “The Beekeeper,” then you know exactly what I mean. In that movie, Jason Statham plays a former special forces soldier who is unstoppable. Think Captain America, Superman, and Supergirl all rolled into one and with no superpowers, other than his wits, his strength, and his nearly limitless knowledge of weapons and techniques for blowing stuff up.

But, who were the original “beekeepers?” Well, one could argue that “beekeepers” have existed throughout history. Whenever you hear a story of a soldier rescuing dozens of his fellow soldiers while sacrificing himself, or you hear about a firefighter battling a blaze behind the fire line and knocking down the fire all by himself, or you hear about someone pulling a person out of a burning car right before it blew up; these are all examples of modern “beekeepers,” people whom God placed at a certain place at just the right time to do His work and always for His Glory.

In the Bible, there are many examples of human “beekeepers.” When King David killed Goliath, it was one of the clearest examples of someone in the Bible who was a real-life “beekeeper.” What about Samson, Samuel, Moses, and King Josiah, and the Apostle Paul? The list goes on an on. All of them were called to do extraordinary works for God, and I would argue that they were all “beekeepers.”

Other examples of “beekeepers” in the Bible include angels who slaughtered entire armies, the enemies of Israel. In one such example, an angel of the LORD killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night. This story is highlighted in 2 Kings 19:35, Isaiah 37:36, and 2 Chronicles 32:21.

Let’s take a look at one of those verses, Isaiah 37:36:

“Then the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.” (from the New King James Version of the Holy Scriptures)

What God did here, was it unjust? Were these Assyrians innocent people who did not deserve to die? First of all, I would ask, do any of us deserve to die, either by the hand of an angel of the LORD or the grim reaper, the angel of death who will eventually come for all of us? Second of all, the Assyrians in Biblical times were a pagan, cruel, and evil bunch. If anyone deserved to die by angel, it was them. Whether you agree with God doing this or not, the Bible records that it happened. And if the angel was sent by God, who are we to question Him?

The Bible is replete with examples like this. That’s why I say, do not mess with God’s people. Many people have hurt the LORD’s little ones throughout history, and God has sent many “beekeepers” to deal with the perpetrators of these evils. You don’t mock God by hurting His people and expect to get away with it. In fact, one of my regular prayers in my quiet time with God is that He send “beekeepers” into the lives of my loved ones who are facing what sometimes seem like insurmountable problems.

I’ll leave you with this question and its obvious answer. Who was the Ultimate Beekeeper sent by God to deal with the huge problem of sin? You know the answer, it was Jesus, our Blessed LORD, who conquered not only sin but death, as well, by living a Perfect Life, dying on the Cross and rising on the Third Day. He is the Beekeeper we should all worship and follow.

And one final testimony, our LORD, the Ultimate Beekeeper is coming to rule the World, and in Revelation 19:11-16, the Blessed Word says that He will wage a just war against His enemies, and He will destroy them with a Sword in his Mouth. Amen and Amen, my Brethren and my Sisters in the LORD.
